what they're saying: red wings edition i have to say, i am loving that the kings are starting to get consistent hate. it's so much more entertaining than the years of indifference or pity. our boys are far from perfect or consistent, but when they're playing well (whether it's for an entire sixty [lol, yeahright] or just the third period), they're so damn frustrating to play against. i love reading what feels like the same meltdown over and over. waaaaah undeserved penalties! why aren't we hitting! our best guys aren't getting the chances, it must be because they suck! we look soooooOOOOooOOOOooo terrible, it probably has nothing to do with the opposition and everything to do with our stars/coach/refs. every time i read that the kings were handed the cup as a personal gift from bettman and that they're just a lucky team while at the same time our "lucky" boys are busy frustrating the hell out of their competition and their fans, i laugh harder. hate more, guys. it's awesome and entertaining.
pre-game:
-I can see this being a physical game. Hopefully get to see Tootoo and Clifford go.
-It's these west coast road trips that make me so excited to move to the east.
-Regardless of whether we were in the new Midwest or Central, these west coast trips are still part of our existence. We'll just be making one trip out to Canadaland and California, instead of two trips. This is why I think it's stupid just to move east and destroy 30 years of hockey tradition. We still have to deal with west coast trips. You might as well keep the traditional rivals.
-Too many injures, not enough depth, depth prevails, therefore L.A wins

-The best part of having too many players...guys need to be accountable for the way they play. White might not like being scratched but he probably deserves it.
-After reading this tweet, I have to begin to wonder if there's a trade coming down, since we haven't heard anything about the Wings wanting to negotiate a new contract with him.

I think we got a couple early powerplays that threw the Kings off their game.
The second period momentum clearly started going to the Kings -- especially as they got powerplays.
And our even strength attack sucked because Mike Babcock has the worst ****ing line in the history of the Detroit Red Wings.
Why make the Kings thinking about strategies to contain Datsyuk when Babcock does it all by himself.

You can't cal borderline calls on the Wings and ignore blatant calls on LA, and it looks that much worse when the always seem to ****** the away team. And those announcers were so biased and saying such STUPID S**T I felt like I was listening to John Madden.

I thought Bernier looked shaky all night. We just didn't get the rebounds we needed. We didn't get a ton of quality chances.
Babcock did what he had to against a LA team that's so big that they are pretty much giants to them. Players like datsyuk, zetter, brunner, cleary, ian white, ect. They are too small and I know we all don't want to see them injured like the rest of our team. We don't ahve the size to match the kings and taht was shown tonight. P.S Officials sucked ass.

Letting Anze Kopitar walk up to the net is what lost them the game.
-Anze Kopitar scored less than 2 minutes after a King knocked Smith down almost giving him a concussion about 100 feet away from the puck. Which was deemed legal. Somehow.
-Meh. We were lucky to win the last game against LA. Jimmy stole that one. Wings got hosed bad by the refs in this one.
-No justice whatsoever in that game. Disgusting. Could have had 4 powerplays there and the kings get 3 minutes of 5-3 off a phantom call

-Watched the 2nd and 3rd periods this morning, and all I have to say is that the Wings couldn't capitalize on their power plays while the Kings were able to in the 3rd. ***** all you want about the reffing, but the Wings had their chances to score and couldn't bury them. The calls against the Wings in the 3rd were on the mark, but I see how some calls could have went the Wings way but didn't. The hit on Brendan Smith should have been penalized.

Simple fact is the kings took advantage of their chances in the third things didn't. we had a couple iffy calls against us, but the kings definitely got away with murder in that game.
-We dominated the first. The Kings had better even strength chances the rest of the game, I thought. I didn't see much pressure on Bernier even when LA wasn't on the powerplay.
-Cleary needs to shut up. The hit was shoulder-to-shoulder and he got cut by his visor.
Smith, on the other hand, has a right to be pissed.
