Where the F is our offense?!!?

The Ducks and Sharks are a combined 5-0, averaging 5.4 (!!!!!) goals per game!
We on the other hand are 0-2-1 and are scoring 1.33 goals per game! Where the f*** is our offense!? Brown, Richards, Kopitar, Doughty, Williams?!? Anyone!?!?

I tried to think of something funny to say, but I couldn't, because, its not funny. You know what i mean. Yea, not funny.

I'm starting to legitimately worry about Richards, he looks slow as hell and completely disinterested

Maybe he just wants to sit at home and watch TV.

Kopitar and Carter are the only real "skill" forwards. Carter has been fine - far and away the most chances from any Kings top-6 player.

Kopitar is coming off an injury, and looks like he is just a few more games from being back to form.

Brown has been terrible, no effort, no real desire shown, no impact at all.

Richards and Williams are different cases. The effort has been there from both, but their timing and puck handling look like guys who have had 6 months off and were thrown right into game action. Neither is particulary gifted - they get by on decision making and smarts. When they fight the puck, or are a step behind, they don't have that pure skill or speed to still be as effective. Give them a week or so, and they will get right back into the swing of things.

League wide you are seeing the individually gifted players succeed right away, and a bunch of guys like Clifford and Winnik who are seeing results from just being more "ready" than teams full of guys who are slow to catch on. It is going to balance out.

I don't think either Richards or Williams have shown much effort, at all. Even though I've been pretty patient with Kopitar, he's been quite questionable. Richards just strolled to the Kings bench, coupled with Stoll's knucklehead rush to grab the puck, lead to the Kings penalty.

It's a combination of lacking readiness/conditioning and just flat out having no sense of urgency.

If you are talking about the too many men on the ice call, I disagree. Richards was gassed from a long shift and took the same path and speed you see from any player heading to the bench in that situation. The problem was that the puck ended up being cleared while he was heading off for the change and Stoll shouldn't have come on so soon, especially with the way the refs were calling it - and had already called an even closer play against them while they were killing a penalty. Playing the puck in that situation was just a boneheaded mistake, but the refs probably would have callled it even if he let the puck go down the boards to Quick.

I don't see the same lack of effort from Richards or Williams as I have with Brown. Brown isn't doing anything - at all. Richards and Williams have had chances, or probably more accurately, chances at chances that have been consistently fumbled away or a second or two off the pace of play.

If they are still playing like this on Monday I'm going to boo the ****ing **** out of them. They deserve it.
