Default Who among the Kings were you the happiest for?

    ...for winning the Cup?
    How about your top three?

Please include only players that played in playoffs, top coaches (Sutter, Stevens, Kompon), and top managers (Lombardi, Hextall)
No Bob Miller, Nick Nickson, etc. please

    1. Lombardi - Hard-working, thoroughly passionate, stuck to his plan, took advantage of opportunites, etc.
    2. Mitchell - Came back from career-threatening concussions, warrior on defense, took a chance leaving Vancouver to join Kings (much better offer, I know), etc.
    3. Can't decide - Tie to Brown (Stepped up), Penner (Woke up), and Stoll (Never gave up (overcoming arthritis issues))

I know he's already won one with the Wings, but, I did enjoy seeing Luc lift the cup as a King, even a front office King. I have a feeling it meant as much to him as the one he won on the ice, maybe even more so.

Edit: Apologies, Bogey, but these are the important ones to me.

I'll play by the rules... except I'll leave out Dean Lombardi and the coaches.

#1 - Willie Mitchell. Same reasons you listed above. To add to that, he signed that 2 year extension before the playoffs and said he wanted to win the Cup here.

#2 - Mike Richards. Getting traded from the Flyers and winning the Cup here pretty much sends a big middle finger to Philly. That's always a plus in my book. (Jeff Carter sort of applies here too...)

#3 - The whole team. Yep, I'm happy for all of them. They just took it to another level. A level many of us constantly thought they would never reach. Best examples are like when we played Detroit, Tampa Bay, etc... just the more "skilled" teams that seem to make nothing but tape to tape passes and the Kings always looked outclassed in every level. So the fact that we saw our Kings do just that... wow!

I was most happy for our home grown guys - Kopi, Brown, Quick
I was very happy for the guys who had been to the Finals before but lost - Richards, Stoll, Greene, Carter
Happy for guys nearing the end of their careers - Mitchell, Gagne

Luc, Brown, and Kopi. Kopi noses out everyone else since he's the second longest tenured King. I certainly wouldn't say Penner since he already won the Cup once, and just about ever other player has some sort of "feel good" story (except maybe guys like King, Nolan, Martinez, and Voynov who had the good fortune of being in the right place at the right time and rising to the occasion). That said, I'd give an honorable mention to Scuderi for taking a chance coming to the Kings after winning the Cup in Pittsburgh and doing those "I didn't come here to finish second" commercials.

I wouldn't say I'm "happy for" Lombardi, but it's nice to see someone with a clear plan be given the time and space to put it into action and have it work as planned (and, secondarily, I feel a certain sense of personal satisfaction for buying into and having faith in that plan after seeing him articulate it at the breakfast with the GM however many years ago it was).

From the opposite perspective, I felt slightly bad for Clifford for getting knocked out of the playoff lineup because of a cheap shot hit and never getting back in and Richardson for getting pulled from the lineup in the finals to make way for Gagne.
