How about Mike Komisarek? He's a right-handed defenseman, he's big, 6'4" and 234 lbs and he's a stay at home type with lots of experience. I figure a third or fourth round pick for him.

Not wanting to stray to far off topic (again), but I have an issue with this, are the Kings paying him? If so, at some point (I would imagine real soon) DL is going to have to point out that the team is paying him $3.5m to pull a disappearing act on them. Does the team have any recourse in this situation ?
The question is who really is available and you get someone who can replace Mitchell because imo he won't be back once his contract is up and I honestly don't know how much longer in a Kings uni he will be. Retirement is coming soon for him too as he will be 36 in April. Not that that is super old but for his style of play I wouldn't doubt if he will be thinking about it this off season or after 1 more year.
Either way they need a good stay at home D-man like him and look for more long term then just a replacement.
Lombardi gave brief updates yesterday during a conference call. Said Martinez is on schedule, 2-4 week injury. Greene actually may be a bit ahead of schedule and Mitchell who knows? Mitchell did undergo another procedure Monday according to Lombardi. Said it was something that's helped him in the past.

i think the Kings need one more guy that can kill penalties. word is Greene is ahead of schedule, so if that's true he would fit the bill.
Doughty/Muzzin
Voynov/Scuderi
Martinez/Greene
i would be OK with that six in the playoffs.
if Greene isn't going to be ready, then i have to think DL can turn the pick he got for Gagne into a PK guy with an expiring contract.
Aucoin
Fistric
Hainsey
Hamrlik
Regher
Sulzer
Leopold
i could even see a guy like Bouwmeester and then DL buys him out at the end of the year since I don't think the Kings have a current contract they would want to buy out.
At this point I'd say we stand pat with what we have. This is great experience for the younger guys and they seem to be pretty cohesive. Doughty/Scuderi/Voynov have been solid lately and Muzzin/Ellerby/Drewiske really haven't been making any mistakes.
You'd expect to see Mitchell and Greene back before the year, but hopefully that gives them enough time to get their conditioning down.
I'm thinking we're gonna see something happen here soon on the D. Martinez was only supposed to be out a week or 2, and that was over 2 weeks ago and now he is 2-4 weeks out?? Not familiar enough with E coast teams to throw around names, but agree that it needs to be a big body, stay at home with the way Muzzin has been jumping into the play the last few games, and seems like Drewiske is trying the same thing.
Can we clone Scuderi? Maybe Chris Chelios can be coaxed out of retirement? (joking!! I'm joking!!)
