Thread: Who Else is Disappointed they Won't/Didn't Use D. Courtney's Voice?

Agree with OP - was really hoping "Ladies and Gentlemen YOUR Los Angeles Kings" would be part of the music mix during period introductions moving forward ... kinda the way the Flyers still use Kate Smith footage for 'God Bless America' ...

Also agree DJ's VOICE doesn't cut it (this has nothing to do with day 1 jitters or fumbling over words)... replacing a legend is impossible but in a town like Los Angeles, we can't find a guy with a more powerful voice to do the work? DJ's work as a journalist, and hockey fan has nothing to do with being a public address announcer in my humble opinion.

Sorry to be OT, but had to respond to this.. I know the ice is always bad, but I don't remember ever seeing that huge pothole in the middle of the slot in the Kings' zone.

Sorry I missed the DC clip when the Cup arrived, though I think I may have lost it had I heard it.

Like you, I was hoping to hear "Los Angeles Goal!" At least we got to hear "Ladies and Gentlemen, the Stanley Cup!" I thought there would be more...

It almost looks like something fell onto the ice. It's really weird looking.

Regarding the bolded. Of course he inst the voice you are used to hearing, he isn't the voice anyone is used to hearing (unless you listen to 710 KSPN), but I think he did great for his first day on the job

i'm not mad. just when you get used to someone announcing things you're happy about (kings hitting the ice or scoring a goal), you begin to associate that announcement with the good feeling.

i've just confirmed that the patch of shoddy ice in front of the goal was due to clifford falling down on it repeatedly during practise. this was exacerbated during the game when he fell on the ice several more times. clifford being who he is, though, i decided not to bitch about it

I dont really get it...I dont even notice announcements during the game let alone care who does them
