seriously, being there seemed like a mini frozen fury. i'm telling ya, after that banner went up, nobody cared. they could have had Amputee Bantam Hockey teams play at that point.
this this this.
and ya, i totally teared up during the video and then when the cup came out and the players each held it one more time. i don't remember if other teams have done it this way, but i really liked how each player stood spaced apart in the rink and passed the cup around, holding it in front of the fans and kissing it one last time. i tear up every time i see scenes/replays from the cup celly at game 6, so that was like all throughout the summer and lockout whenever nhl network showed snippets of it congratulating the kings, in an ad, etc.
i've said the top 3 moments of my life are these--getting married, giving birth and watching the kings win it before my eyes. seeing scenes such as the ones where they jump off the bench and skate towards quick, brown hoisting the cup, etc gives me the same exact feeling of emotional joy i get when i recall how awesome it was to give birth (seriously, it was so not scary like i thought i always thought it would be) and what a great day i had at my wedding.
