I would not be surprised with a Schultz like signing. Either a forward or D-man paid low enough that his contract won't count against the cap if waived and assigned to Manchester.

Just not enough cap room to pick up anyone worthwhile methinks.

Based on where we are, I don't see him moving roster players out, but if he could add a veteran forward or defensemen for closer to the league minimum than their contract, I think he might do it.

    Thoughts?
There's probably not much room in the cap right? They have $3M+ in cap space. Say King signs for $2M or a shade under that, then you have a couple of other RFA's to take care of (Mcnabb, Berube, etc.) Would be too tight I would think, unless they are thinking of letting King go. If anything you might see another Schultz signing like last year.

If we were at $71M in the salary cap I would say yes, as it is there is just no real room to slip someone in, unless of course we had a shock retirement free up some space

With all these buy outs it has to suck if you were a legitimate veteran UFA this year, (Willie Mitchell, I am looking at you) there is a ton of compliance bought out D-men suddenly on the market come tomorrow

If Dean wants to keep McNabb and Andreoff his hands are tied. I don't see a lot out there UFA-wise that helps the Kings and keeps them under the salary cap.

That is unless Regehr is moved out somehow.

Negative Johannson. No need, no cap room.

I just don't see any UFA signings with the King,McNabb etc qualifying offers just given.

RFA anyway. Columbus would just match and say thank you very much for negotiating that deal for us.

Agreed. Ehrhoff would be nice, but it's a complete pipe dream. Roll with the kiddies for depth, no need for dumpster diving this year IMO
