...and that's what makes Sutter's comments odd. It's as if he doesn't trust Mitchell.

for what it's worth Helene was saying in her HNIC radio bit that Sutter's going back to saying he won't talk about non roster players and he's not on the roster. Hard to figure the the timeline on this but I still doubt there's much that's overly worrisome going on here besides the obvious.
The "psychologist" comment is new. I posted last week about the prior comment:
Quote:
“You know what, he’s got doctor’s clearance,” Sutter said last week. “He’s got trainers’ clearance. Coaches want him to clear himself.
“So do it.”
Mitchell's aggressive style of play (he gives it 100%) so, I don't blame him for holding off until he feels he's ready to go. It's not like he's the kinda guy who could go out there and play cautious....that's just not his way.
I thought I read a Mitchell quote where he basically said he was having to get used to his knee situation as it currently it is, and that he knew it wouldn't be fully 100% until probably after the season. Wonder if that is just where he is at now.. making sure he is completely comfortable. All psychologist jokes aside, lots of players have said that after an injury like that it IS the mental side that takes longest to get back on track even though they are told everything is fine physically.
With his past concussion issues and trying to get back you know he will make sure he is completely comfortable before stepping on the ice... as he should be.
We need him and his 7 foot stick hahaha
