Looks like the league gave up its last bargaining chip
A source confirmed to LeBrun that NHLPA special council Steve Fehr and NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly have tentatively agreed to resume bargaining, however, no specifics about format, location and day have been agreed upon. The two sides have not traded proposals or met face-to-face for a formal bargaining session in over two weeks.
Congratulations,
I'm so disgusted with both sides that I just don't care anymore.. cancel the ****ing season already.
That wasn't the league's bargaining chip. If anything it was the one thing the players thought they could hold for ransom in order to get what they want. Clearly the league is OK with losing that game in order to get what they want so the players have lost that potential leverage.
I'm sitting here just shaking my head.
I am speechless, simply speechless.
Cancelled? Big F'n D. It's always featured the same 6 teams; I haven't watched it in years.
The NHL is clearly the biggest professional sports league in the world so they can take their time on getting the right agreement in place.
Idiots.
I think people here are more concerned about what this may mean for the season than the WC itself.
Although admittedly I am disappointed. I thought it was always a fun game to watch.
