If the lockout ends end of December/first part of January they'd redraw the schedule because you'd see no games against the other conference.
You what would suck worse? Bettman's third Lockout NOT ending during the Grammys, or anytime soon.
They would probably prefer to be on the road, rather than see Bettman accept the award for Best Song and Dance Performance by a Sports Commissioner.
At this point, the league won't simply pick up with the existing schedule, and whatever new schedule is made will have every team playing the same number of home and road games. If the Kings have to start the season with a long road trip, so be it. Also, the Grammy roadie this season was set to be in February, not January (last home game on 1/31/13 and next home game on 2/15/13).
What are you talking about? A new schedule will have to be made if the lockout ends in time for an actual season to occur. The schedule made before October is long gone.
Dates being similar and opponents being similar are two different things though. Plus they have to have some sort of contingency plan. In a regular season they can work around the Grammy dates easier because they can schedule more home games earlier in the season. But if there is a say 48 game season (like after the 94-95 lockout) they will still have to fit 24 home dates in. That year the season started Jan 20 and ended May 3. Right now, it looks like the Kings have 16 dates scheduled on the old schedule between Jan 20 and the end of the season. If they used a similiar format as the old lockout, you could have some games played on days blocked off for what would have been first round playoff dates. Or you will see a lot of Sat and Sun afternoon games on days where the Lakers and Clippers play.
Either way, I wouldn't spend my time worrying about a schedule before a CBA is done.
Any settlement within the next six months will conflict with my Black Ops 2.
