at the draft party a couple of years ago, and under a considerable haze, i heard Birdman yell out the following (about 4 or 5 times, i think) - "don't marry yourselves to players!" he went on to reiterate that idea more than once on the boards, and i believe it to be absolutely sage.

Only reason I say it wouldn't shock me is that Keith was totally stationary (Gazing lovingly at his marvelous creation. Joyous be thy pass.) and Daniel, while absolutely getting a large chunk of upper body, intentionally went high. Higher than necessary... and got a large chunk of head.
Principle point of contact... no. Dangerous or reckless... probably. Did he intend to catch him in the head... probably. Shanny could take a look. Again, mostly because Keith wasn't moving at all, and Daniel had time to line him up and hit him in exactly the way he wanted to.
In any case, sounds like Daniel's sitting at least one out because of the injury. As I said above, Keith should get at least three. Sounds like they'll take their time on the decision since Chicago doesn't play again for a few days.
Have you ever guessed somebody's gender wrong? There's no recovering from that. You just gotta move on, cause you ain't wriggling outta nothin'.

"Maam."

Kerry Fraser seems to think so
Fraser: Keith demonstrated no intent on playing the puckDaniel Sedin should not have gotten a free pass last night in the game either. His high hit on Duncan Keith warranted at least a minor penalty for boarding or as I would prefer, an illegal check to the head. Even though this is not the type of hit you would expect from Daniel Sedin nor does he have a previous history, his illegal contact to the head of Duncan Keith should also be reviewed and dealt with.
(...)
Decisions at this time are also crucial in maintaining player accountability and a standard that hopefully will act as a strong deterrent moving into the playoffs. I look for Duncan Keith to receive a minimum of five games for his deliberate elbow to the head of Daniel Sedin. In addition, it is my hope that Daniel Sedin receives a one-game suspension for his careless hit to the head of Duncan Keith that was not penalized.
Now for the record I am biased against Vancouver and the Sedins in particular, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. Just want to make that clear.
BTW... Crunker? Could you do us a solid and beat the Stars in regulation tonight?
Thx!

Fair enough. I respect Fraser's opinion but respectfully disagree. I don't believe the head was PPoC but can see how others could interpret otherwise.
@Teeny - I'll see what we can do but I'm leery that there will be a let-down after last nights emotional game. Also Dallas has played us well.

Thanks for getting Dallas drunk and crunking all over them.
I'm wearing my lucky fuzzy underwear, so I'm doing my best. I'm just happy our second looked better than our first. 20 minute game now, and hopefully we can go in to the 3rd with some confidence!
