Thread: Absolutely ridiculous shootout attempt by Kaspars Daugavins

What say you guys? I personally think something like that should be left for the All-Star game.

I was watching live on gamecenter, and loved every second.

The shootout is a joke, and have no problem with skaters trying anything. The quicker to get it removed.

The goal for a shooter in a shootout is to score.

Why should tricks like this be reserved for an all-star game? If the shooter thinks it gives him a better chance of fooling the goaltender and gives his team a better chance to win, he should use any shootout move in his arsenal.

Rask knew that all he had to do is cover the bottom and he was good. The player can't lift the puck if he's pinning it to the ice. Dumb move by the shooter.

You make a good point. The reason a move like that bugs me because an extra point is on the line and I just feel like there is a time and a place for theatrics like that.

I loved it. My opinion of the shootout is that it is some silly entertaining bs. As long as the shooter stays within the rules, go for it.

The bigger a circus this gets, the better. It's a sad gimmick and a dumb way to decide a game.
Hell, I'll be excited the first time a player tries to use a prop.
