This deal does put a lot of pressure on Gillis in the off-season - especially if the Canucks don't win a Cup. If they win it, I think they can move Schneider for a more conservative long-term type package involving prospects and picks. If they don't, then no doubt he'll be used to acquire more "prime time" help. And I honestly believe that if they are on this list, they make a strong move for Rick Nash with Schneider being the one thing that other teams really don't have ready to offer.
I didn't think Hodgson was getting moved and wonder if we had openly shopped him if we could've gotten a better deal. Further I'm surprised of the two blue chip prospects it wasn't Schneider that got traded but I think deep down Gillis still isn't sure what to do with him. Draft day deal most likely.
