Holtby is not looking too great. That last one was pretty turrible. Looked like a goal I would let in.

Saw the postgame...Holtby looked jittery. But the Caps hit a ton of posts so it could have evened out. I say the kid comes back strong in game 2 and they steal a split. Hey Crunker, that Luongo to Toronto rumor has to be piffle. No way he goes to ANOTHER situation where angry fans are looking for a saviour/scapegoat.

    FTFY

I think Luongo would be fine in TO.

He just has to help guide them into the playoffs and he would be God there.

I have to respectfully disagree. They want more than just the playoffs and patience don't even enter into it no more. If he was smart he would push for somewhere else. That's an 'outta the frying pan' if I have ever seen one.

There's really only one reason why I thing Luongo to Toronto might work and his name is Allaire. The problem with this is what do you do with Riemer and Scrivens (assuming Gustavson leaves)? In many ways, Vancouver is similar to Toronto in how the fans and media handle the goalies. Every goalie that shows a modicum of poise and wins a few games in Toronto is immediately heralded as the franchise goalie and greatest since Bower. Then that goalie struggles a bit and it's on to the next young goalie with promise. Seems similar to me in how Luongo was heralded as the saviour for Vancouver (but in fairness, Luongo had shown quite enough and had accomplished enough to garner that kind of faith as opposed to his Toronto counterparts).

When you haven't made the playoffs since the lockout I think most TO fans at this time just want an invite to the party.

Luongo can handle the scrutiny. His mental makeup (or lack thereof) is greatly exaggerated imo.

You can remove the "imo" because it is simply a fact. You do not get to where he is if you are mentally fragile.

After hearing Lundqvist crying about the off-ice officials trying to help Ottawa win I wondered what kind of media s***-storm would have followed if Luongo made that statement.
