the situation in detroit is really sad.

as for your question, i've been to playoff games at the pond a few different years, and the atmosphere has varied. last year it was pretty quiet (but the ducks were playing horribly so there wasn't much for the crowd to be excited about), but other times it was pretty loud and fun. i think it depends on the opponent and how well the team is playing. against detroit, i'm sure it'll be pretty loud. i'll be there game 4 so we'll see.

to hear Ducks fan blaming the lack of sellouts on the economy and 7:30 start times is one more reason theyre a bunch of *******. Im sorry the NHL is keeping some corporate lackey up past his beauty sleep in his Villa Park home.

Don't worry I'll be working on Tues. If you have any trouble, shine the light to the sky and I'll haul ass down there from Anaheim Hills.....

I went during their first playoff run. I saw them beat Phoenix in 7 games with seats right on the glass. The atmosphere is intense just like any other playoff city. The funniest thing was that it was the first year that they had foul towels and they ordered some with a lot of lint. As the fans waved them wildly there was a shower of lint that even made breathing difficult. By the next game they had different towels that didn't decompose.

i just got done listening to some dumb**** ducks fan on NHL Live

"what is it gonna take to get Giguere back in the net... hiller gave up easy an goal yesterday"

.... hiller has been robbing everyone, teams double up shots on the ducks and still lose (SJ series and yesterdays game)

    ...idiot

if ducks make it past detroit they should go to the cup and it will be on hiller's back

At this point you'd have to wonder if Giguere would be effective at all. He's been sitting for so long and it's not like he's had a great season. But, then again, he's had a lot of success before and carried the Ducks.

This brings up a curious topic, lets say Hiller continues to play well (either in defeat or to a *gulp* championship), what do the Ducks do with Giguere? Trade him?

the only way Giguere would play is if hiller got hurt, but the announcers have been saying they have another good young goal tender coming up in their system, so they may get rid of Giguere if hiller continues to play like he has

I was at Game 3 of the western Conf Finals against Edmonton in 2006 and at Game 6 in 2007 when they won the Cup. It is as loud as it was at Staples way back when. I don't think in general that they are as knowledgable as Kings fans, but just as enthusiastic.

It is wild, loud, playoff hockey just like almost all other buildings.

When watching the OPPOSING teams going against the Ducks at HONDA Center that the Ducks fan base in the playoff doesn't seem as off the chain type of atmosphere, as it would be for the Kings fan base
Just watching on TV with the surround sound on, i would have to say patheticly quiet, compared to say the Canucks, Flames, Rangers or 'Canes fans level of noise, but im sure mighty duck fans would say otherwise.
