They are currently building a Tanger outlet mall, in what was once the Coyotes/Cardinals season ticket holder parking lot, on the westside of Westgate. Glendale is hoping that kind of attraction can keep people coming back during the weekdays and weekends when nothing is going on at either Jobing.com or UofP Stadium.

An interesting # I just saw today, was that if this deal goes through with the numbers currently being talked about... it will cost each resident of Glendale appx $45 annually over the 20 year course of the deal.

    Cool news.

As for the name change, I don't see it as an issue when you are the only club in that state as to me you represent the state more so than that city. I don't see Tucson getting a team any day soon.

Your right about Tucson. They don't support anything other than the UofA. I grew up in Tucson and remember when the Cardinals came to Phx and many in Tucson were pissed that the team was named 'Phoenix' rather than 'Arizona'. Many vowed never to support the team because they didn't feel that the Cardinals wanted their support.... it was a dumb argument. Still years later, the Cards buckled and changed the name to the Arizona Cardinals. I don't know if the bitching from down south had anything to do with the change, but it happened none the less, and it shut up the Tucson residents for awhile. Now they complain about the Dbacks pulling their Spring Training home and Triple A team from Tucson. Little brother syndrome.

I do wonder if the Coyotes name change, in addition to playing in Glendale, has something to do with a push to get state-wide support for the team. The Coyotes used to play a preseason game or two down there at the Tucson Convention Center, although Im not sure if they were able to create any fans by doing that. With the Coyotes recent success, the time is right if the Coyotes management wants to make a push down to Tucson and try to create a little buzz.

Seriously!!! It's been 3 years of this crap going on and I've just about had it. To be less than 24 hrs away from finally putting all this ownership drama behind us, and to hear this news really pisses me off. I suppose I shouldn't be shocked, it's been a coaster ride from Day 1 of the bankruptcy.

I rarely wish physical or emotional harm on anyone, but I woke up this morning with some bad thoughts about the people at Goldwater.

Judge denies restraining order request by Goldwater. City of Glendale set to vote at the 1030am city cousel meeting taking place today. Goldwater already saying they will appeal Glendale vote if they vote to approve the deal.

NHL apparently gave Glendale a deadline of 5 days after the Coyotes last game to get a deal done before the NHL pulled the plug. The NHL then gave Glendale a 30 day extension.

    It never ends....

Bettman and potential buyer Jamison are in the front row on the city counsel meeting. Vote expected to take place around noon.

Glendale votes in favor of the Coyotes new 20 year lease on Jobing.com, with a vote of 4-2.

Now we wait to see what Goldwater will do...
