I fail to understand how expecting a player to be penalized for inappropriate, unprofessional behavior deserves being classified as both a "knee jerk reactionary nut job" and the kind of misguided moron that would try to 'arrest' a jaywalker.

Now, this is a argument I can understand and even support. It shouldn't have been spotted on the jumbotron because with 4 officials on the ice and it being a tv break, someone should have seen it happen. Either way, if your argument is he shouldn't have gotten a penalty because none of those officials saw it happen first hand, and because you would rather the team take care of it on the ice, then why not say that first rather than toss insults at fans? A bit of a knee jerk reaction, perhaps?

The thing that would suck is being Avery's teammate. The one poor Ranger who makes the mistake of coming to Avery's aid gets popped in the face by Thomas, the Rangers now have another 3-ring circus on their hands when they're in the middle of a playoff fight, and Avery gets all the attention - just like he wants. Forget about the Bruins wanting to kick his ass, if I was on the Rangers, I'd be handing out some punishment in the lockerroom.
