Is Jerry Reinsdorf the Coyotes' financial oasis? - Puck Daddy - NHL - Yahoo! Sports
at the draft party a couple of years ago, and under a considerable haze, i heard Birdman yell out the following (about 4 or 5 times, i think) - "don't marry yourselves to players!" he went on to reiterate that idea more than once on the boards, and i believe it to be absolutely sage.

Gelndale Arizona.... What now?
The NHL is making more of a mess of the Coyote situation. They contend that they are the owners of the team and Jerry Moyes is not or shouldn't be making decisions...what bull****! GBettmann and BDaly just don't want a Maverick like JBasillie coming to town...they want to dictate the conditions and location. Now if Basillie was willing to put a team in Asswipe, Alabama he'd have a deal tootsweet...Respect to all the 'Bama hockey fans...
The main problem with the Coyote situation is that the team is aweful and playing on the outskirts of Phoenix in Glendale...so shouldn't the team be called the Glendale 'Yotes. Kind of like the Oakland-San Francisco Seals,California Seals, California Golden Seals or the Cleveland Barons playing in Richfield, Ohio and not Cleveland...
PS Basillie is not dumb, the Coyotes have acquired some really good young talent, all they need is a bonafide coach...not WGretzky, who couldn't coach out of a wet paper bag...Don Maloney has made some good-great Drafts & moves since he took over as the GM...
Here's the latest on Jerry Moyes:
TheStar.com | Sports | Coyotes owner gave up control for cash: NHL
There is just no way he explicitly signed away his rights to bankruptcy, just to keep the team operational so it could continue to lose more money. Who would do that? If it doesn't make sense, it isn't true.
The NHL is just making a bad situation worse, as usual.
So I just completed an NHL survey, and the first set of questions were:
-Do you know what is going on with the ownership in Phoenix?
-How interested are you in the ownership situation?
-Should Balsillie be able to purchase the team?
-Should Balsillie be able to move the team to southern Ontario?
So here's my question ... if there is an overwhelming number of answers that indicate Phoenix should move, does the NHL reverse its course and allow that to happen? Otherwise why even put it in their survey? FYI, this was a survey put forth by the NHL.
Wait. WTF is Bettman's problem with letting the team be moved again?
He's a ****ing moron. He is OBSESSED with forcing hockey down the throats of people in areas who, by and large, don't give a flying **** about the sport. He would rather spend years trying to hammer a square peg into a round hole, instead of supporting a purchase and move of the team into an area where sellouts are GUARANTEED...every night...whether the team is good or not.
**** you Gary.
