Default Cam Fowler the next JJ?

I don't watch ducks games, just happened on the article cuz it looked interesting and then just did some cursory statistical digging.

HockeyBuzz.com - Steve Palumbo - The Curious Case of Cam Fowler

So Cam Fowler is on the big minus megatrend and he doesn't exactly have a Scuderi or Mitchell back there to help take off the pressure. His scoring is basically on par with JJ at about .5 pts/game so it seems offensively similar.

The only other high ranked D-man to be playing similar minutes and equally bad on the +/- is Bogosian and even he seems to be getting it a little better (plus it's hard to say what the environment in Atlanta had on his game, certainly better since moving to the peg)

Simply put, it looks like the ducks are on their way to ruining a very young defenseman that should have had a pretty solid career which actually makes me sad. Then again maybe there's a reason he fell from the consensus #4 to #12.

For anyone who needs the stats

So maybe if there's a lockout he can get some AHL time and get some things together so I guess there's a small silver lining there.

Still funny that Fowler is on a fowl team (waterfowl to be exact) but this kid is going to be one to watch. JJ always looked like he was lost playing defense and even on a good team he wasn't able to keep his +/- up.

THe main difference I see is that JJ was on a great defensive team yet still sucked. Fowler is on a poor defensive team. His numbers might be a lot better playing with the Kings defense.

But as KingsFan626 says "Still funny that Fowler is on a fowl team." Therefore, Fowler needs to be a Duck 4 Life.

Fowler needs to grow some hair on his nuts before he gets any "d-cred" from me. He is a little prick out there on the ice, very Crosby-esque at times. (like it really matters what i think)

Just an abysmal defender. Skilled skater with good offensive talent.

    Poor mans JJ.
