I'm sure Booth's gonna love having to play Richards 4 times a year again. Wonder if Van goes after Turris now as its been rumored for a while.
I like it because it allows the Kings to make a move to get Samuelsson later when Florida is out of the playoff hunt....I give it until December.
Bizarre trade for FLA...Sturm and Sammie both have a lot of hard miles. Suppose its a risk/reward for both teams willing to make changes with Vancouver getting the edge of Booth's melon doesnt take a shot.
Booth's term and cap hit concern me a little, (Plus his past trouble w/ concussion), but all-in-all I like this deal.Quote:

Looking at Florida's roster...perfect example of why I loathe rebuilds. For every team that successfully does it, like the Kings, you've got the likes of Florida (Atlanta/Winnipeg, Islanders, etc...). All those years not making the playoffs and collecting prospects, then another GM comes in, and within a few years you have, what, 3-4 players left from the prior regime? What a ****ing waste. And this was a team that showed glimpses of turning the corner, I thought, prior to losing J-Bo, Olli, etc...
I think Booth works well as a second liner. In Florida, he was the go-to guy. He'll be facing different lines and D-men on a line with his good friend Kesler.
I look at it this way - they win if he's healthy, and if he gets his bell rung again, the Canucks get the IR cap space they they used to their advantage last year with Edler and Salo. I seriously think that unless the new CBA is changed, teams may start to target players who are out for a significant portion of the regular season in order to go into the playoffs with an "over the cap" roster.Quote:
