Sorry, correction. Ballard isn't being bought out. Haha!

    Y! SPORTS

Oh and it looks like Ballard was put on waivers and will likely be bought out. Good thing you gave up Grabner AND a 1st to acquire him.
Hated that trade right from the beginning.

Reading the Canucks board, it seems a lot of fans are making a comparison of choosing Horvat over Nichushkin to 2005 when they choose Luc Bourdon over Kopitar.

not sure that I agree, but admittedly I have a "Bo-ner for Horvat."

And just to throw some more gasoline on the fire:

@JasonGregor word is Ryan Kesler was banging Schneiders Girl Friend

at the draft party a couple of years ago, and under a considerable haze, i heard Birdman yell out the following (about 4 or 5 times, i think) - "don't marry yourselves to players!" he went on to reiterate that idea more than once on the boards, and i believe it to be absolutely sage.

Yes. A rumour started by an Oilers fan.

    Personally I think it's garbage.

(Though if true, this wouldn't be the first time something like this has happened between players on the Canucks: see Jeff Brown/ Kirk McLean)

I doubt it is true but if it is, I understand.

NastiMarvasti, You obviously don't know what you're talking about.

You awfully sound like you know more what they're getting into than the Sedins themselves.

And you sound a lot like you're saying chemistry is irrelevant. I would definitely inquire with my top players to see it from their point of view. They're working together to achieve a goal, not clock in and clock out of the Rog for the paycheck.

What exactly do the Sedins know about Tortorella other than the fact that he has a ring? And I never said anything about chemistry not being relevant. But when was the problem with the Sedins ever related to chemistry? A GM who asks his top players who he should hire tells me that it's a GM who doesn't have the confidence to figure it out himself. Why else did it take so long for the guy to pick his first coach? He never had the confidence to even fire AV. He's been riding the Burke/Nonis train his entire time in Vancouver. Do you think Lombardi asked Kopitar and Brown if Sutter was the right guy for the job?

Roberto Luongo has dumped his longtime agent and is now being represented by the heavyweight duo of J.P. Barry and Pat Brisson of CAA Sports.

Barry confirmed Wednesday that the change was made earlier this week. Luongo was previously represented by Gilles Lupien, who negotiated the 12-year, $64-million deal that Luongo signed with the Canucks in 2009.
