He is the leader, however he is not the coach. When a team like San Jose does not win, I will not blame Rob Blake, I would blame all of the players.

With the talent this team has it would again be a huge failure if they do not win the cup this year.

Since most of LGK dislikes Rob Blake it looks like the Karma may backfire and they do win the cup. I hope not but this team again has enough to do it.
He fails when he doesn't lead by example on the ice. For example, standing around with his thumb up his ass when JLB is getting speared by our now very own Ryan Smyth.

You think a guy like Foote would put up with that crap? Foote is a real leader that has the young guys' backs. We'll see that in Colorado this season.

You think guys like Odie and Scuderi will put up with that kind of stuff? They aren't even wearing a letter and they are better leaders than Blake.

I think Blake is one of the major reasons that the other teams had the Kings' balls in a jar on their bench during his last tenure here. He skated away from a lot of scrums his last two seasons in LA.

Did you ever see Steve Yzerman teach a guy a lesson when he'd run a goalie?

Besides, I clearly remember on at least one occasion Blake pounding the crap out of someone while others were standing around.

We'ree making fun of Blake and San Jose yet our own Captain is untouchable? What exactly has Brown done to warrant that kind of responsibility?

He hits and has a cheap contract?

That isn't something I would expect little Stevie Y to do, but it is something that should be an automatic for Blake.

I clearly remember Blake standing around during a lot of scrums his last two seasons in LA. He wasn't physical, he wasn't nasty, he was apathetic and uninspiring though.

I can't say that I am 100% sold on Brown as captain, but at least he puts in an honest effort every night. I don't think the same can be said for Blake.

When was Blake EVER a nasty player? That was never his style. Don't forget too that he was playing hurt his first year and his play improved drastically in year two.
