Oh well, I guess the "assault on the NHL" (as the Pgh broadcasters were calling his return) has gone on hiatus. Why are they talking in that article about Krejci hitting him? The collision with Kunitz didn't shake anything up? I guess the Winter Classic will be minute to minute updates on Sid's condition.

Hate to see this happen. Reminds of what the Kings fans went through with Deadmarsh.
I'm kind of amazed at the number of Pens fans who still don't seem all that concerned. It would be one thing if he took a major check and concussion symptoms returned, but if he's getting symptoms after relatively minor contact, the organization has to be worried I'd think. I'm not completely doom and gloom over the situation (and maybe the Deader experience here doesn't help my opinions), but anyone with some sense of logic here would see this isn't a good thing......but apparently not some Pens fans.
Last week they were all "It's just a precaution" or "He probably tweaked his knee". Even today some of them were all, "Well he wasn't diagnosed with another concussion" or "Resting him is the best thing if he's got minor symptoms". I even saw one person say the Pens were using the concussion symptoms to hide that it's really his knee that's hurt. Why in the hell would they use that as an excuse after he was out almost a year? If they were going to hide the knee injury, they'd say it was a groin pull or something.
Unfortunately, seeing what other players have gone through in regards to concussions, such as Deadmarsh, I have to agree with you. If he is once again out after what seems to be more like normal contact, I have to assume something is very wrong and he will never again be 100%, at best.
Concussions are so dangerous because they deal with the brain, the part of the body science and modern health have had so much trouble quantifying in terms of how to treat and knowing what exactly is wrong. It's not like a broken bone or other physical body part, where you know the timetable for return or a normal schedule of healing.
I hope I eat my words and that Crosby comes back one day 100% and leaves his concussion woes behind him, but I am not holding my breath.
He needs to just take the year off and see how he feels at the start of next season.

I can't wait until we get a 24/7 all Sidney, all the time station.
One time I went on an anti Crosby and the media attention he gets rant. My friend, who is a big Lakers fan and not much of a hockey fan, asked why I didn't like Crosby. I said to her, "You know the way you feel about Lebron, that's the way I feel about Crosby" and it was like a huge lightbulb went off and she was all, "Ohhhhhhhh. Now I get it." And I think this was even before Lebron took his talents to South Beach.
