Sorry, you're losing your guy, JD. I have always enjoyed what he brings to his profession. He's knowledgeable, prepared, animated, and what amuses me most are his unusual descriptive words.
King fans are going to face the same crossroads with Bob, likely sooner than later unfortunately.
I have always liked Emerick...my first memory of him when he called that classic 1987 playoff game of the Ises vs. Wash that lasted 6 hours. Him and Clement were epic.
And, yes, there is going to be similar crossroads when Miller retires. His first season was the my first season following the Kings and it will be extremely difficult not to hear him call games....I'm not looking forward to that at all...

I started listening to King broadcasts sometime in that '73-'74 season, and by the time Dionne had come to town two seasons later, I was listening to every game. Bob was amazing with his play-by-play, and I consider myself very, very fortunate to have been able to listen to both him and Vin Scully in my younger days, when those guys were really at the top of their games.
Actually Doc rings it up a little bit when he does the Versus/NBC broadcasts. I even have trouble listening to him on those broadcasts sometimes. He was much more low key on the Devils broadcasts. I wonder if they are gonna sit Chico down too. Hopefully not because he is fun in a loveable goofball kind of way.
