I actually thought he and Hahn did a good job.

Hell, those two had some of my favorite commentary all time on a national broadcast:

Maybe being too candid about the home team's game play when it was lackluster wasn't a good disposition. Funny though for a team needing rebuilding to start it like this.

I'm sorry, but Drew has said some of the dumbest **** I've ever heard a commentator say, including, "4 on 4 hockey is so exciting, the league should consider doing it for 60 minutes."

He's a clown. Glad he's being pro about it, but I'm not going to pretend he didn't suck.

Living a good golf drive from San Jose, I have the displeasure of listening to him every time I watch a Kings game at the (s)Tank. He's probably not the worst, but he's got to be in the top 5 most annoying. He's certainly no better than Hayward as far as homerism is concerned. Yes, Pittsburgh, Vancouver, NY and Chicago have terribly biased color commentators, but he's no better.

Bad fans are created (or at least perpetuated) by numbnuts like Remenda complaining about every penalty, non-call, suspension and hard hit that goes against their team. I really hope this is the beginning of the weeding out of the guys who publicly question the officials. That crap is a detriment to the game as a whole.

I don't know why he was fired but the subtext seems to be, at least from some of the posters in this thread, that he was a little too critical of the Sharks play. If that is true, then that's polar opposite from what you just posted.

I can only speak to my experience. Oh, and the fact that the article states that even he doesn't know why he was fired. Yes, the article from the team's beat reporter referenced his occasional "tough love", but I've never seen it. Again, it's my opinion based on the 15-20 games a year I hear(d) him call. It will be interesting to see if his replacement is even more friendly to the team.

I will take Hahn & Remenda over Alhers & Hayward any day. Having had center ice this past season, there are homers that are far worse than the SJ tandem.

Agreed. Now I hate the Sharks more than probably any other team, but I kinda liked Drew Remenda.
