It still would be way too early to judge the trade. That's going to be a trade that needs a couple of years before you can look back and say who's the winner. A top 5 pick looks nice but they don't always develop the way people expect.

Toronto is the default game - especially for those in provinces like Manitoba and Saskatchewan, where they told every morning at school that they are Leave fans, for better or worse.
I mean . . . the NHL changed the Saturday schedule for CBC so the Leafs/Canucks game was in prime time - a 4PM start time in Vancouver? That never happens.
Leafs @ Disneyland today. They might actually get a win tonight.
listen, this leafs team was always going to be one of the worst teams in the league. horrific goaltending, no real scoring depth and lets face it, not one of the best d-lines. beauchemin has always been overrated. of course you are going to look good playing beside scott neidermayer every night. burke inherited a cluster**** and made it worse by confusing "truculence" with talent. wilson is not the one to blame here. of course he will end up shouldering the blame because that is always the case when things go south for teams.
Overrated players are destined for Toronto - it's the only way they can justify their free agent signings most of the time. Everyone wants to play in Toronto, they say, but truly, they have to overpay like a lot of places since their structure sucks the big one. You should have heard the predictions with a defense anchored by Kaberle, Shenn, Komisarek, Beauchemin, would they EVER allow a goal against all season? Toskala was obviously hurt last year - he couldn't be THAT bad, could he? Then they sign the Monster, because of course, he only wanted to play for Toronto - and out of the goodness of their hearts they overpaid for him.
The franchise is a joke except for one thing and one thing only - win or lose, they will sell out their games and their fans will support them until the bitter end. Unlike so many other cities - winning doesn't always have to be the #1 priorities. If I remember correctly, they even RAISED ticket prices this year after their completely spectaclular season a year ago.
Phil Kessel should be crapping bricks already - the dude is going to be looked upon somewhere at the level of the pope or higher in Toronto's hierarchy.
Just wait until you start hearing about all the free agents who are destine to sign this upcoming off-season! I figure they'll get an early start this year so they can pre-sell tickets for next season.
If they're the worst team in the league...what would that make the DUCKS???
