    Boston still wins this trade. Kessel wasn't gonna stay there, for one thing, so the Bruins got a great return for him. From Toronto's POV, if you have absolutely no talent or depth on your roster, wouldn't it make more sense to add 3 or 4 players through the draft (2 of which could be top 5 picks) rather than 1 good player? At this point, the Leafs don't just need quality, they need quantity too and with those picks, they could have had a good start on both. Now, the rebuild is going to take MUCH longer. Imagine if Lombardi had traded the picks that turned into Hickey, Doughty, and Moller for Corey Perry back in 2007. That's not a trade you make when you're not at least a playoff team.

    If you have Center Ice, tune in to the Stars broadcast of the Stars/Leafs game starting at 5 tonight. The Stars PBP and color guys (Strangis/Reaugh) are two of the best in the league and I'm sure they'll have some entertaining thoughts about the Leafs.

    WOW!!! How funny is that with a Toronto Maple Leaf fan sold himself to whatever his next favorite team to be- which is now a Dallas Stars fan. All due to his fustrations with the toronto maple leafs

    I could understand a Ducks fan selling themselves for a new favorite team, but a Toronto Maple Leaf fan?!?!
