3.5 million for 1/2 of one good season. He'll be making almost twice what Jonathan Quick is making. Quick's salary next season is 1.8MM.

Definite overpayment, but he looks like he can be a decent starter. EDM isnt near the cap limit so its not like the contract will handcuff them.

a decent starter if he's a late bloomer and we just haven't seen his game yet... same thing they thought with Deslauriers. "decent" is the problem with that equation though. not to mention that they really have a bevy of zero in the hole behind him.
