Hockey and football are hard sports to design an effective helmet. Motorcycle and Bicycle helmets are designed to break on impact thus absorbing much of the blow. Well that wouldn't work in these sports because of the nature of the contact.

Agreed that the mc and bicycle helmets are designed to break. Was just throwing it out there that maybe the hockey helmets were/are going down the same path as too hard, thus transferring more energy to the noggin. This is definitely a dilemma, however, based on the report, the concussions appear to be down with the use of the new helmets. I know there is not a good sample size but definitely a step in the positive direction.
