Maybe homer can send us Simmonds back on his way out the door.

Props to the NHL for proving my lack of faith in them.

I don't get all the outrage. Were all of you calling for Bernier to be suspended when he clearly instigated the fight against Ryan Miller and subsequently beat his ass? Is that really the first time any of you have seen a guy start a fight against some that didn't want to go?

Was Carcillo willing last night when Clune instigated the fight? Should Clune be subject to the suspensions that some of the posters in here are throwing around?

We've seen players turtle many, many times before and never has the instigator in those situations been called half the names that Emery is getting called. In fact, Emery warned Holtby to protect himself.

I think anytime a player gets jumped and is not a willing combatant in a fight there should be some sort of discipline on the instigator. Add to that the circumstances of the game (lopsided loss). Add to that Emery skating down the ice to instigate a fight. Add to that the punches to the back of the head to a player that is just holding on until it's over. Add to that Emery's checkered past of misconduct.
And then you have the ref who is making no effort to stop the fight even though it is apparent one person involved is barely fighting back and is in a prone position while receiving blows to the back of the head - while - holding other players at bay to either break up the fight or even the odds under the threat of being the 3rd man in.
Just my observations.

I think it also should be taken into consideration that Emery boxes during his off time. He knows how to hurt someone with his fists. This is nothing like what Bernier and Miller did.
