That wide open style of play drove me from Pee Wees through high school. I always wanted to put on that red sweater and fly like the wind.

Severe injuries took me out of my college hockey dreams but by that time Orr had come into the league and the Bruins finally had a team to get behind. I loved watching those guys. All my experiences at the Boston Garden were memorable but the day I got Gordie Howe's autograph will always stand out. Sure wish I had that program from 1957 now.
I grew up outside of Boston as well. I followed the Bruins in the 70's and 80's. To this day Cam Neely is my favorite player of all time. I loved the foggy games (literally) inside the Garden. I also had a soft spot for the Whale.

When I came to LA in '88, I started in with this unhealthy obsession over the Kings.

I moved here in November 1975, just in time for Dionne's first season. Not too many game's were on TV then but I do remember Bob Miller announcing them. My first trip to the Forum was probably the next season after I had adapted to my new home and adopted the Kings, the Dodgers and the Lakers as my new hometown teams. The Triple Crown line definitely turned me obsessional.

You bet. One of the (many) reasons for the Kings lack of success is the fact they've had to travel more than most of the other teams. Vancouver is the other one. This has been alleviated a bit in the last 15/20 years though.
