I think 5 more games and if they continue loosing wouldn't be surprised if Larry Robinson doesn't take over

I think they would look for a trade first. They have a pretty good coach.
Although I get it, the right move would be to nuke the site from orbit and try and rebuild around the younger guys, and TM is the right guy to coach that team and restart.
at the draft party a couple of years ago, and under a considerable haze, i heard Birdman yell out the following (about 4 or 5 times, i think) - "don't marry yourselves to players!" he went on to reiterate that idea more than once on the boards, and i believe it to be absolutely sage.

They have said that they will not blow up their team and rebuild. The last time they did that, they lost a crap ton of season ticket holders. I think at this point, they'll be happy to just make the playoffs and hope something happens there.

You're welcome.

If they don't blow it up, they are entering the pre-lombardi Kings never-never land. Never good enough to win it all. Never bad enough to get top draft talent. And their current organizational depth is for **** (so I hear).
Oh well. Doesn't bother me a bit.
The Sharks are a mess. Their Top 6 is great. Their Bottom 6 is **** and their blueline is in-between.
I'd move Pavelski and Clowe for some younger bodies, ASAP.
They're stuck with Thornton, Marleau and Havlat due to their NMCs. I'd also deal Boyle once his full NTC expires on June 30th.
Any of those can waive them if the right deal comes along and they are going to a contender. Boyle's especially.
Next year is the last for all 3, as well as Pavelski, then its time to take off and nuke the site from Orbit. You start earlier and deal away spare parts for picks in the 2nd to 5th round range if you can.

I wish we could finagle Robinson out of there to work with our young D.
