I heard they are going to ask the tax payers to foot the $400mil bill for a new arena.
Maniacal Laugh, Maniacal Laugh, Maniacal Laugh
A healthy Islanders team, with an improved Montoya in net is certainly deserving of a new arena. The last half of the year they were one of the better teams out there. I think they deserve a good facility for the good product that is coming for Islanders Hockey.
I care...
because I was hoping the Islanders would have to move out of New York and help break up that scheduling cluster**** of teams that all exist in each other's back yards in the North Eastern block of North America.
THERE'S AN ENTIRE CONTINENT OUT HERE THAT WANTS TO WATCH HOCKEY TOO!!!

This is what I think of Naysays comment.......Islanders have been a staple of Long Island.....Give them what they want, the east is fine. (I'll never admit it, but I do kinda like the islanders.)

At what point do you think taxpayers will tire of building arenas?
$400 Mill? For a Wang owned team? Good god, Ilitch should ask the people of Michigan for a $400 BILLION arena based on this.
Its gonna be soon when Anaheim's lease is up at the Honda Center, and growing up in Anaheim like I did and knowing the city, there is no way in god's name they are going to give the ducks a new arena. That place is a piece of trash......Im not just saying that cause I hate the ducks. The place is old, and there is no way they can add more luxury boxes.
The Islanders deserve a new place to play......and they deserve to stay.

Yes the are... it's the only way the Isles are staying and the taxpayers know this, but there is a pay-back plan in place to refund taxpayers with the revenue from this venture. Lord knows LI taxes are already thru the roof but the Isles are the ONLY professional sports team on Long Island. I talked to a few of my family members (NON hockey fans) and they are going to vote yes just for the economic stimulation that something like this will create on the island.
I am cautiously optimistic.
