    Doesn't seem to want to sign with Anaheim, so he'll be a UFA:

    Who do you think breaks the bank and signs him? Vancouver? Edmonton?

    Could we step in here and sign him?
    at the draft party a couple of years ago, and under a considerable haze, i heard Birdman yell out the following (about 4 or 5 times, i think) - "don't marry yourselves to players!" he went on to reiterate that idea more than once on the boards, and i believe it to be absolutely sage.

    NYR are in on Justin Schultz. @DarrenDreger confirms TOR is in, @Real_ESPNLeBrun confirms OTT is in. That makes it VAN, EDM, NYR, TOR, OTT.

    Have heard that Minny is also on his list.

    Apparently several other teams have called to inquire. Among the teams that were told "no thanks" were the Calgary Flames, Philadelphia Flyers, Detroit Red Wings and Columbus Blue Jackets.

    I really think Edmonton is gonna get him. He will instantly be in their top 4, and they have a young group of forwards he can grow with. Being that every contract offer will be identical, the kid gets to choose whatever team he wants (wouldn't that be the dream of any rookie?)

    I think Van and Edmonton are the frontrunners.

    T.O. (Gardiner) and NYR (McDonagh) w/ their Badger connections are the darkhorses.

    I can't remember the last time I wanted to root against the success of an individual player so badly.

    I'm kinda wondering...why all the dislike? I know very little of him or his situation.

    From a CBA standpoint, is this similar to that guy STL had a few years ago (can't remember his name...or was it a guy STL signed...???)?
