losing the player is the part that hurts them. the fact that they also lost a #1 draft pick stings a bit more today than it did yesterday.

If someone retires and has a contract like that, if they come back a year or 2 later, will that contract start where it left off then or is it over and done and can make a new one? Reason I ask is this could also mean he wants to re-do his contract so his cap hit isn't like how it is nor the crazy amount.

from the sound of it, NJ is going to void the contract. Therefore, should he ever come back he would be free to sign with any team.
