I meant to say that the strategy he has chosen is interesting in this gamble. I initially was going to post that his strategy wasn't very smart, but the more I think about it the more it makes sense, particularly if he is convinced that Kovy is indeed hell bent on testing the FA waters and will tell this to anyone contacting him. Why allow anyone to know that little tidbit first hand. Let'em think "we can talk him out of it."

That said, if I'm Waddell and Lombardi is not offering at least one of Simmonds/Brown as a part of the package, I tell him to take a long walk off a short pier.

The most important thing is that LA is now in that position we have all been waiting for, we have the assets and prospects to get that Superstar... the biggest question (and the only one that should matter) is if Kovy IS THAT SUPERSTAR!

if it's moller/simmonds/1st for Kovy and 3rd i'd make that trade if kovy is re-upping here and i don't think twice about it.
we can find another simmonds, there are only a few 50 goal scorers in the league.
