At the risk of re-opening still unhealed wounds, I thought this obituary of the Devils season was worth posting.
For the first time since 1996, Devils miss playoffs - Hockey Blog - ESPN New York
Those of you who want to shovel dirt on the grave go ahead. I am going to take pride in the way my team finished, especially after the way they started. And despite the protestations of many others, the future looks bright. Our younger players may not be future league stars...but in the structure of our team they should do well. Adam Henrique is another player ready to make the next step as well. Maybe Jacques will come back, maybe not...but I feel certain that Lou has learned that he cannot be as cavalier in regards to choosing a coach. And Parise...if he does decide to stay(and a lot of what I am hearing, grain of salt included, are contrary to the previous reports of his unhappiness) would give our team two top tier players, and a decent supporting cast.
Rolston/Zubrus/Elias and Marty probably have one more good run left, and if not...they are coming off the books pretty soon. This year was a learning experience. Anyway, say whatever you want...I continue to believe and bleed Red/Black & White...and sometimes Green.
