I like your take on Schenn moon.
I think Handzus retires a King with a bunch of respect from everyone.
Schenn centers a third line of Parse Schenn Simmonds.
Simmonds teaches Schenn about playing like Handzus and himself.

i agree...no way they try to sign him. but they can trade for him for this year and then let him go to UFA. they need to move contracts anyway for next year, so why not get Kovy as a rental for the rest of the year?
they definitely will not re-sign him, but why not take a shot this year. detroit is down and this may be their best shot at a Cup.
Other then his contract being up there with the tops in the league, the trigger doesn't have to be to pricey to pull. Is DL willing to pay for a top player is more of a question to me.
Look at the Thornton trade and even the Heatley trade. Circumstance dictated both of those and the team receiving the star didn't lose their pants.
Sturm, Primeau and Stuart isn't exactly a hefty price for Thornton.
Michalek and Cheechoo is next to nothing for Heatley.
Could be a combo of any of these 2 or 3 players and pics. Frolov, Driewski,Parse, Brown, Johnson, Purcell, Scuderi, Green, Prospect.
Frolov and Scuderi for Kovy sure looks like more then Sturm and Stuart to me.
It depends on whether they think he's ready to play and learn how to be a 2nd liner. The Kings don't have a legit #2 center right now and if Schenn is ready after another full season under his belt (he was *that* close to making the Kings THIS season). Unless he's not ready IN OCTOBER OF 2010, there is NO reason he couldn't come to the Kings as a 19 yr old (and he didn't "just" turn 18, it was 4 1/2 months ago) and start learning to be their 2nd line center...look at Duchene - he doesn't turn 19 for another couple weeks.
I don't "expect" it, but I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him on the Kings next season. That said, I wouldn't be disappointed if he spent another year in juniors.
