Mathamagicians: Can you tell me what the cap hit is if they knock 2 years off the contract that was negated? And if this is possible what if the final years were increased to $1M on a 12 year contract(Somewhat structured like Hossa's contract)

I guess the NHL wants the fight with the P.A. right now. Interesting time to pick this fight, when the NHLPA has no defined leader.

I wonder why the NHL chose this contract to reject, when others have gone through. It really doesn't make sense.

Oh well, I guess we'll see what an arbitrator has to say in a few weeks, since I don't think the PA will sit idly by.
