Thread: Kovalchuk part V, The NHL Strikes Back, NHLPA files Grievance (All Discussion Here )

Just a thought after reading the NHLPA's statement, If they do file a grievance on behalf of their member (Kovalchuk) this will drag the situation out. If there are any fines or penalties given, it seems that the burden would be placed more so on the "Devils" and possibly the agent (Grossman), so why would the NHLPA care to get into it as this time? The PA and Kovalchuk probably want to situation rectified ASAP so that Kovalchuk is free to sign a "new" contract.

Bettman did the Devils a good turn dumping that stupid contract. CBGB had some interesting points in his latest blog post, lots of shenanigans going on behind the scenes with this one.

I guess there could be a chance that Kovy would take this as an insult. He could see it as the Devils trapping him into signing the contract they want. I wonder if he'd come crying back to the Kings if that were the case. Doubt it and not sure if I would welcome him.

What a bunch of morons. I actually feel bad for Kovalchuk if he was not informed. To me that's a way for them to get Kovalchuk to drop his demands, and the way they did it is bush league.
So Ilya, which GM do you feel more comfortable dealing with now?

Geez.... I think even other cluster's out there are looking at this and saying, "what a cluster."

Devils and Lamoriello tried to circumvent the cap like the oil that was leaking out of the broken wellhead in the gulf.
