Is this whole thing part of the 40+ year tease? I have never in my life seen anything like this in sports, and I mean all sports. If anybody can find a comparison to this, please post it. After all of this, I don't want him, period. Can you imagine if the Kings DO get him? I don't want this guy NEAR our locker room, ever. Except in a visitors sweater.

Kings should offer him a $150 million 100 year deal.

EDIT: Section 48 deals with a "successor" System Arbitrator. There is no provision that I see for choosing an arbitrator for grievances if no System Administrator was chosen to begin with.
I believe you are correct sir. What a cluster****.

I think they should use Don Cherry and Televise / Stream it on the NHL network.

Does anyone know how NHL players get paid?
Is it bi-weekly like a regular paycheck, do they get some of their wages witheld for unemployment, I am being totally serious about this, it fascinates me that someone could get a bi-weekly or monthly paycheck of 400,000 after taxes. Do they get it in a lump sum. Do they have to pay into a group health plan :D

ok I wish I made this point my self but someone on hf boards brought it up.

When every one brings up the contracts of Zetterberg, dipeitro, Hossa,Pronger to defend the rejected kovalchuck I would say:

Show me which one of those pays the league max for five years and the league min for five years as well. thats ten years that "zero" each other out when averaging them together.

In response to the rejected deal, I was fully expecting dean to come out and say:
"we've moved on, there are other options, this is about our kids"

    instead it's:
"we would remain interested if the oppurtunity were to present itself"

i get not ruling anything out at this point. But what i'm reading into this is that PLAN B is not looking very good.

They're plain ol' employees (insanely well paid, but just employees), so they get taxes withheld like anyone else. I think they do get paid a couple of times a month, if memory serves, but I believe during the season only.
