I mention it earlier, but I think this is a strong possibility. It's in Kovalchuk's and the PA's best interest to move on ASAP. If they file a grievance Kovy would be in limbo longer. The PA and the NHL would need to agree on an Independent Arbitrator, they haven't been able to do so in five years. That issue alone could draw this out all summer.Quote:

0? That's a bit extreme. I think people should stop getting their hopes up that he'll all of a sudden come here again, but honestly, what was he going to say? "I wanted to play in LA, but they didn't pay me enough"? Of course he's going to say he always wanted to return to NJ, etc, the same way he'd say "I always wanted to move to LA" had he signed here.Quote:

I wasn't sure if I wanted him on the Kings before but I definitely don't want him on the Kings now.
I don't give a pooh: where the guy signs, at this point his best bet might be to let this go and just sign a 1 year deal with another team at league max and try again next summer, or go back the Russia and sign with the KHL. That said, you can't take anything he said at the presser seriously. I mean what is he going to say? "I really wanted to sign with the Kings but the Devils offered me a wheel barrel full of cash!"
