thats what I have been saying all along.
I really don't think they will intervene.
They still have not and the clock is ticking.
You let the deal expire and make them take a second shot at it, it makes way more sense than trying to fix something that is totally out of whack.
At this point I am not sure the league would accept our offer either.
I think it is all about the length and as mentioned previously the actual cash to cap hit value and how big of a gap the difference is.
I think that is because there is no way that Kovalchuk would have signed with the Devils for less money than that offer. It was an overpayment, all parties know it, and they are hoping that the NHLPA upholds it.
A contract of lesser value would have Kovalchuk looking at other options.
For a lot of people, money is a god, Kovi included.
Johnson for Abdelkader and Co.? Interesting, but no thanks.
