If there has been one theme to this 30-day old Kovi drama, is that just when you expect it to end (like when he signed with NJ), for whatever reason it goes on. If the arbitrator rules in favor of the NHL, this will go on further still.

The arbitrator will rule in favor of the NHL, NJ will get a slap on the wrist, they'll take a couple years off the back end, raise the salary of the remaining back end years to $1M, raising the cap hit a little bit, and Kovalchuk will remain with NJ.
