My personal opinion is that it sounds as if the media interfered in some part with his negotiations. It sounded as if "NJ & Kovy are negotiating, if something falls through it's a possibility."

That seems to be exactly what you, and others, want.

It's foolish to think the guy is doing NOTHING all day. He's making calls and trying to make deals; they just haven't been the right fit. Teams know we have holes, and will attempt to use that as leverage. Dean won't be impatient, and won't take a deal that he believes he isn't getting the upper hand in. And yet, a bunch of people get cranky about his inactivity.

If you don't want him to do "something lame", why are you criticizing him if that is all that's on the table at the moment? Or are you really arguing that he isn't trying?
