Could the Devils have been hoping for this? It was rumored Lou never wanted this deal and it was pushed on by mgmt so maybe the Devils can now tell their fanbase that we tried and the league screwed us. Fans will not be mad at the team now.

Oh man! I can't stop laughing at this one. While I'm under no illusion that he'll end up back in LA, I am certainly hoping the NHL throws the book at NJ and makes them swallow a truly bitter pill if they want to still sign IK.

Why shouldn't I hope the league nails NJ with a serious fine and once they sign Kovy, that fine and Kovy$ contract shakes loose some quality players for trade?
