My wife is going to ban me from this, she's afraid I'll get fired.

I thought he had a NTC? Would he waive it?

Wow, I really thought the League would lose this one. Would they look at Hossa's deal too or is that too late? Guess it depends on what the arbitrator's reasoning was...
How would you do that though? You invalidate that contract and then what? Chicago can't afford its players last year? Do you take their cup away and give it to Philly who (incidentally) have three players on similar contracts? What about Detroit? Nothing will be done with those contracts and it just makes the league look foolish.

oh man... let the madness continue...

I'm not so much looking at where Kovy signs now but more to see if the NHL pushes its punishment to the Devils.

I am sure he is referring to people thinking Kovi could still be a King. He will still sign in NJ though and if it ends up being even lower than the Kings had originally offered then maybe those will realize that he never wanted to play here in the first place.

They will still be in cap trouble though when they get a new contract for him done.

Okay, so for those that just think it is automatic that he will sign in NJ, my question to you is; What is going to give?

Is Kovy, going to take less money?
Is NJ going to take a higher cap hit?
Of you think it is going to be a compromise?

I don't know how much more of a cap hit NJ will be able to stand.

I wouldn't go as far as take the cup away but maybe have the restructure the contract, wasn't sure if they had the right to do so. Maybe the Hossa deal is the last line of where it can be acceptable.
