Remember when Blake was thought to be injury prone? Everybody wanted him gone and then he went on to win the Norris and stayed pretty much injury free for the rest of his career.

I wasn't aware we had a LW problem. We lost one to free agency and he's been replaced.
Gaborik played 76 games last season. He played 77 in '07, too. His "current form was healthy" when he entered the 2008 season too, in which he played 17 games.

Then again I have no idea why we are spending so much time on this. Sounds like a lot more CBGB hoping then actual chance of happening.

I'm using only my own instincts about Jack not wanting to stay in LA, based on subtleties in interviews and his life in Michigan, so in that sense my position may not be valid whatsoever...but it's still what I believe to be true...maybe others know more...I guess we'll see, eventually.

Certainly not hell bent on moving JJ, because the Kings DO need him this season, particularly with the Matt Greene situation. UNLESS there is something else worthy coming this way.

I'm not a going after Kaberle fan, but for say Moeller and picks, maybe that is one way of addressing a hole with something here, if ANY of this conjecture were remotely true (I remain skeptical about any of it).

And I agree USCKingsFan31, Poni and a healthy Mitchell would be nice additions, and then see what evolves in camp in September.

Well I never said it was a slam dunk predictor but to use a horse racing analogy (I know you are familiar with horse racing), Would you rather bet on the horse that won its last race after being off for 3 months or the horse that just been off for 3 months?

No I get it, and I hear you.

But personally, I'd rather bet $350 in one race on the horse that was healthy for three seasons and then injured for three seasons than $750 on four straight races on the horse that's had two healthy seasons out of the last 6.

Especially since I only have about $6000 per race and a whole lotta other horses to bet on.

This whole Gaborik available talk is totally dependent on Kovie to the rags correct? Or have you people had so much Purple Drank that you think they'll do it purely for cap relief now.

Harrold SHOULD NOT be a permanent 6th D. You guys are really smoking something if you think he's good enough to be a 6th D on this team. Does anyone remember when Bobby Ryan made Harrold his bitch? Does anyone remember when big forwards knock him over on dump ins like he's nothing? Cmon people!

True, but you have to admit it would be a classic Rangers move -- throwing ridiculous cash at a name to eclipse their competition in the market. For them to try to poach IK from the Devils wouldn't surprise me at all.

It's the "from the Devils" part that gives this a hint of possible.

    How I'm understanding it...

    - CBGB wants Gaborik, as is made clear by his posts "If what I'm hearing happens, Kings fans will be very happy". He's speaking for himself, because I sure as **** wouldn't be happy with Jack Johnson+ (trading from a depleted D core) for Gaborik (a right winger, one of our deepest organizational positions).

    - CBGB hears from one source "not going to happen" and another "If Kovalchuk signs with the Rags, Gaborik is a King".

So let's see. The Rangers make a lateral move and add a guy who I can't imagine could do a whole lot more than what Gaborik has PROVEN he can do in the system (42 goals, 44 assists) in order to dish Gaborik (not making any sense to me). Then the ONLY destination for Gaborik is apparently the Kings, which is odd considering Dean didn't make the deal because of the length of the contract, and as I mentioned before, we're doing okay at RW with Brown/Williams/Simmonds. Now, Dean is not only happy to take on the contract and term, but give up JJ and more in the process.

    - CBGB says HOPEFULLY Gaborik too, that's the big name drop, everyone is excited. Yet it still makes no sense.

That's just how I'm reading it. If anyone makes more sense of it please, help me out.
