LGK Log- Day 48
The thread has either taken a turn for the worse with no news on the Chosen One or is trying to resurrect itself with talk of gastrointestinal delights. While it is hard to argue with the posters of the thread on the benefits of bacon and Monte Cristos it is also easy to wonder where the thread will go from here. After some thought about some of the directions the thread could go in order to extend its life span I came up up with a few: girls kissing, rousing debate on antidisestablishmentarism, girls of the Czech Republic, stories of Vegas trips gone bad (or good), girls with guns, and the many uses of the aforementioned bacon! Or actual Chosen One talk, crazy I know! I wonder if the threads used by the Satan worshippers to speak of the Chosen One have gone in other directions as well, or do they curse the ruling of the one known as the arbiter. I personally would never question the rulings of the arbiter for fear that he would gut me with his energy sword. The fact that the NHL and NHLPA would use a member of the Covenant Elite Guard to rule in what could be one of the most important matters to hit the NHL since the lockout still has me shaking my head. I only hope that the Master Chief was present in case any transgresions were to occur. As of now the Mystic has not come down from the mountain to speak of things that might not happen. Personally think something happens with the Chosen One or anyone else mentioned that could end up a King in the next eleventy hours. The Jack in the Box rollover banner worked out well until Channel 4 investigative reporter Joel Grover showed up for an in depth report on what really is in those yummy deep fried tacos. After my gag reflexes took over I fled to the Free Credit Score banner, will work as my new observation blind for now. Family sent fresh underwear and sandwich, (no Monte Cristo) with the dog. I swear thats dog drool on my underwear.
there's a restaurant on Wilshire Blvd whose name escapes me right now (i remember it has something to do with boats), that serves up a Monte Cristo that i felt was better than Twoheys in Alhambra and about par with Art's in Studio City... all of which i think are better than the Disney version.
and Lappy, you ain't nevuh gonna find a more superb Mint julep than the one you'll find in South Louisville.
Monte Cristo sandwich at Bit O'Denmark in Solvang is very good. For reference, I've had the Disneyland version as well, which IMO is very good.
To get it slightly back on topic (sorry), here's an article from Larry Brooks (I know, I know) that is actually pretty informative and gives some back room info on the state of the NHLPA at the moment.

I've never had any problem getting a same day reservation at BB.
Gotta say though, that place has gone downhill a bit in the last 2 years. The menu has been trimmed down and you're basically paying premium prices for food you can get in N.O. Square. There is a certain charm to exchanging one finger salutes with the teenagers riding by on Pirates, though. I suppose you can't put a price on that.
If Lombardi had taken Kovi to Disneyland for a Monte Christo sandwich, we wouldn't be in this mess.
