Its not LA or NYC. Big deal, small traditional town and their favorite son bringing home the hardware. Go Bruins!

No no no, I HATE rioting...just, a bit more folks and cheering...if Kopitar would bring the Cup to Jesenice, half of the town would be on foot and cheering. Properly cheering. And we're talking about similarly small towns, but hockey is (or...was?) much more popular sport in Slovakia. So really, this is, IMO, quite a lame welcome for a hockey player who brings the holy grail of hockey home.
Or maybe it's always like this because they got used to it? But then again, in Slovenia, athletes of other sports often bring medals home (and did in the past), and there is ALWAYS a much much warmer welcome, and also no matter the color of the medal.

I smell dying of interest in hockey there...

Looked like it could have been a family event. I'm sure there was a bigger one for public.

    Edit:

    Oh haaaaaaaay Kaberle's looked fun.

Oh well, that could explain it. Thanks.
